“do you think my abusive partner can change” yeah man you know I’ve heard some stories where these dudes received massive traumatic brain injuries and it knocked the hatefulness clean out of them. my grandpa with Alzheimer’s brain is slowly dissolving and he’s nice now. if you want him to change you’re going to have to beat him within an inch of his life with a brick or wait 50 years for him to develop dementia. I think the better option is leaving.

it sounds like a joke but this is a genuine political belief of mine. you should be able to leave a situation you don’t like. the government has no business trapping you in a relationship.
